2.2.2.2 Org Item Context Menu ¶

If the context menu is raised on a list item, then commands related to sorting, cycling bullet-style, promotion and checkbox operations are provided.

The menu item “Change to Checkbox” will convert an item to a checkbox, with the additional behavior that if the point is at the start of the whole list, the whole list will be converted.

A checkbox can be converted back to a list item using “Change to Item” as shown below. If org-mouse is loaded then the checkbox state can be toggled between on (’[X]’) or off (’[ ]’). Anju provides the “In-Progress [-]” menu item to put the checkbox in an intermediate state.

Note that checkboxes in screenshots are prettified using prettify-symbols-mode.
